The next time your throw a Chinese dinner party or banquet, and if shark’s fin is on the original menu, please consider these options: -
a) ask for artificial shark’s fin instead of the real thing (if you still want to have it in the menu, because not many people can tell the difference?)
b) ask for shark’s fin (real or artificial) to be removed (then it could be called imperial seafood / seafood treasure soup)
c) replace with other soups eg. herbal chicken soup (the ultimate choice, especially the herbal recipe is packed with nutrients)
WHY? All of the above avoid the killing [...]

Are you aware that some of the hi-calcium and low-fat milk that you buy in tetrapak and milk cartons in the supermarkets in Malaysia are made from re-constituted milk.
The next time you pick up a carton or bottle, please check the ingredients to see if it contains fresh milk. Some of the products have as ingredients: Constituents of milk, or milk solids.
If you knew that the milk was made from “constituents of milk”, wouldn’t you rather make a glass from milk powder?
Making a glass of milk from milk powder, means that you reduce the environmental impacts in terms of transportation [...]

It is said that Malaysia’s energy intensity is higher than global average. The table below presents energy intensity and CO2 emission/capita based on energy used of selected countries.
Energy intensity is measured in tonnes of CO2 emitted from the use of energy to produce a unit of GDP (US$1,000).
Typically, if the GDP of a nation is based on manufacturing, and the export of manufactured goods, then intensity would be higher compared to a country which imports manufactured goods. For the first time the term “Climate Change appears in the 5-year Malaysia Plan. In the 10th Malaysia Plan (2011-2015), the main message is: -
During the Plan period, Malaysia will adopt a dual strategy in addressing climate change impacts: firstly, adaptation strategies to protect economic growth and development factors from the impact of climate change; and secondly, mitigation strategies to reduce emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs).
For the adaptation the following measures were mentioned:
Developing a robust risk framework to assess and quantify the climate risk faced by the economy and prioritise measures to address those risks;

Chapter 6 – BUILDING AN ENVIRONMENT THAT ENHANCES QUALITY OF LIFE, of the 10th Malaysia Plan does not make specific references to economic incentives and instruments. The following excerpts shows areas in which some forms of economic instruments / polluter-pays-principle / user-pay-principle are implied:
