Awarded Consultancy to develop State-Level Policy Options And Mechanisms For Payment For Ecosystem Services (SC-2) for Sabah which is to I) support the development of new State-level policies and regulations options and mechanisms that regulate and govern biodiversity conservation and the application of financial mechanisms relating to Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) in Sabah; and II) develop a workable institutional framework to support a PES scheme in Sabah.

This a component of the Government of Malaysia-UNDP-GEF project entitled “Biodiversity conservation in multiple use forest landscapes in Sabah, Malaysia”

Developed procedures manual and delivered three training at 3 projects sites at Kinabalu Park-Ecolinc, Kg Gana and Kinabatangan for the European Union-Malaysia Project – Tackling Climate Change through Sustainable Forest Management and Community Development.

Prepared “Initial Assessment and Scoping Report for the Study on Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) in Malaysia”
This report was carried out to support the implementation of the National Policy on Biological Diversity (NPBD) 2016-2025. The report: i) took stock and reviewed efforts in valuation of biodiversity and ecosystem services in Malaysia, and ii) identified, prioritised and recommended thematic and policy questions that a full TEEB Study for Malaysia would answer.
